What is written on Baba's Samadhi
« on: January 17, 2013, 10:44:48 PM »
Sairam
If you carefully see, there are two stanzas inscribed on Shri Sai's samaadhi.
Does any one know what they are and whey were they carved

If I remember correctly, it is:
रघुपति राघव राजारां
पतित पावन साईरां

I did not notice that in Shirdi personally, but I vaguely remember seeing it on an old calendar of Baba's Samadhi mandiram.

Jai Sai Master.

I guess you were actually referring to the quotes written in Marathi on the exit doors present on both sides of the Samadhi (which are visible in the following picture):

1) "Dolya aad hoin hi chinta, karu naka tumhi majkarita, majhi hade aikal bolta, hitguj karita tumhasave "
Meaning: Never think that I am gone when this mortal body is gone. My bones will talk with you.

2) "Matra majhe kara smaram, vishwas yukt antakaran, tevha kara nishkam bhajan, krut kalyan pawal"
Meaning: Always remember me; have faith in me; do nishkam bhajan and you will be blessed.

Thanks to the guru bandhu - Yogesh Diwan for translating them from Marathi.

Jai Sai Master.
