Swarup Uncle and Ananth Uncle,

I haven't read your messages quite yet, I have a lot of homework to do and then afterwards I should go outside to play, do you mind if I give an answer to your messages tommorow ?? Since it's the weekend. I can think more properly. Because I have more time.

Jai Sai Master!

Dearest Srusti,

Firstly, I would directly try and answer your question and then get into the discussion that Ananth and Swarup are having.
Quote

Does Baba give food to everybody like this ?? If so why do we make our own food ?? Do we have to have full faith that Baba will give us food. If so then the man didn't have full faith that Baba will give him food, but Baba did.

Baba did not say that He would feed everyone! He simply said, those who follow Him and His teachings (basically those who try to be as correct as they can), He will take care of them. For others, He said, their actions will decide what they get. In that story, that man had a test with Master. He said, "if I keep doing what Baba said, will He feed me? How can I know?" To test that, He did that experiment for 11 days. After which He got faith in Baba.

Now, when we try to really get faith in Baba sincerely, He will show us His grace. Its not about praying. Its about becoming better! If we pray for 15 mins and then spend the rest of the day badly, it doesnt work. But if we try to improve, then Baba will help us.

Quote

These are our main goals so then why do people go to schools, dream that they want to have such a job, they get the job, then they earn fame, money, and they realize(very late) that there is no bliss, peace, and, contentment in those things and then they spend time with time passers or else drugs, terrorism, praying to fulfil their wishes etc. Why do they do that ??

Because people dont understand the right way of getting that bliss. They keep searching for it here and there and failing and go on with more searching. They dont understand that they naturally have 'bliss' within them. They keep searching outside. If they stop searching, they will find that it is inside. Prayer, meditation, Parayana, Guruseva, etc. are means of realising that bliss within. So, when we really want to search for it and try hard, then Baba would help us by reducing our worries. He would take care of us so that we can happily try and realize the goal.

Quote
So that means not to stop for wishing wishes. Right ??
But only wishing for right things till we learn to stop for wishing. If we can stop wishing, then thats awsome!!

Now, lets not go too far out yet. I told you :

Quote
Knowing about what 'being a Mahatma' means. (or call it getting liberation, Moksham, Mukti, realization.. etc)
Knowing about how to be that or realize that goal.
Doing what it takes to realize that and not stopping for anything else. Persisting and improving and progressing, irrespective of harships till we reach that goal.

Now, exactly, what is a Mahatma? You took my answer for it, but I would say, dont stop! Search deeper. Read Mahatmas lives. Read their teachings!! Find out really what getting mukti really means. Same with the other two. Search for the answers in Master's books and speeches. Take your time.

Why can't we simply do parayana and meditation and read Master gari books instead of going to work, because we Sai devotees need not worry about any thing like food etc....because Baba will give whatever we need and take care of every thing ?

Hmm... one has to be careful here. The reason is, being a 'Sai Devotee' doesnt mean 'one who reads about Him'. Its means ' a person who is in constant loving remembrance of Sai and one who devoutly follows and implements Baba's teachings for the sole purpose of following Sai'. That means, if we really want to be Baba devotees, we have to DO what He told us to. Then Baba will take care of everything! We can stop work if Baba tells us so. Absolutely!! Master did so. But if we stop work just because we are lazy and then think Baba would take care, He wouldnt!

That is, one has to read what Baba said, and try to follow it correctly. When we are trying to do so, we need not worry about much else because Baba does take care of us even when we are just trying (but trying sincerely) to follow Him.

What happens if we follow Baba? We will be correct. We will go to school if its correct. We will work correctly. We will live correctly. Simple. Baba never said "sit lazily. I will feed you.." Instead, He told us to work correctly and fully, as if we are doing that work for Him as ordered by Him. Say Baba told you to study well. Then you will study right? How sincerely will you study? Because Baba said, you will study carefully and devoutly, right? He asked us to do things like that. To do all things as correctly as we can.

So, in other words, people who dont follow Baba do their jobs, study, etc.. because they are worried and do them just to fulfill their wishes. People who do follow Baba will do those things as Baba would want us to. Ultimately, if we come to a stage where we are so engrossed in Baba and dont even think of anything else, then Baba would feed us even if we dont work! Like Baba's Guru did for Baba. It all depends on which 'class' we are in and we have to follow the course material according to it. If we are in the first class, we are taught alphabet. Similarly, if we are at a lower level, we have to do what Baba told for our level. If we are at a high level, then the rules of that level apply. If we can really sit down and think about Baba and not even remember anything else, and if we train ourselves well and end up having no responsiblities and not depend on anyone else, then we need not even bother for things!

If I say I would sit and meditate and then keep pestering other to bring me food, cook it, etc.. then its wrong. If I sit and meditate and not even worry whether I would live or die, and then not have any responsiblities, then its correct! Otherwise, I have to make sure that I work correctly, earn correctly, spend correctly and then try and remember Baba constantly.

I hope this resolves your question. More on this later on!

Jai Sai Master!!

I think I can relate this quote with one of the quotes in Gita by the Lord. It's 'rajasik' if we leave work fearing bodily discomforts. It's not really in Satwa guna so it's useless.

I will have to dig that link up where the topic of food was discussed in great detail by our forum members. Babu garu had narrated a wonderful story about a devotee of Master who challenged that Baba would not give food (naa Bhaktulaku anna vastraala lotu undadu..) if one does not want it.

Thanks asterias garu for bringing this out again, if not I wouldnt have dug out the below. Thanks to Babu garu and this forum
