Doubt from my daughter
« on: October 04, 2014, 11:26:24 AM »
Jai Sai Master, Babu garu!
Jai Sai Master, Sai Bandhus!

Dearest Babu garu and Sai Bandhus,

Belated wishes of Vijaya Dasami to all. I have a question that I needed some answers and I was hoping (as I usually do) that I would get the answers from here, THE SOURCE :)

My daughter (10 year old) asked me "on Baba's maha samadhi day, why do we celebrate when HE has gone away from us physically? ISn't that a sad day? Because we cannot see Him anymore. Then why do we celebrate?"

I gave her the examples (quoting Sai Leelamrutam) of Baba wanting us to see Him in all things, all persons and in all situations. For that to happen, He had to leave His physical form but He is always available for those who think of HIM day and night everyday. I told her that to reach that stage we have to do Parayana of His Life History with Bhakti but also to follow what He taught.

I know my answer is half baked, error-prone, and probably inaccurate but ....really....why do we celebrate the samadhi of great Saints?

Best Regards to all,
Jai Sai Master!
Jai Sai Master!
Jai Swamy Sai!

Jai Sai Master!

Baba's very Mission is to make us realize that one can overcome death, and when one is realized there is no death for such a one.  Hence, for a Baba devotee, death should never be a sad event. Particularly, Baba being the GREAT ONE that He is, there is no death for Him! We look at it as bad because we are not realized yet. But Baba is proof that death is not something to be sad about.

Therefore, even the day He left His physical body is not a sad day for us, but rather a proof that He is what He is. It is a proof of all the theories told by the Sages of old.

So, we celebrate that day for three reasons.

1. To remember that the Wisdom given by the Sages of all ages, the Mahatmas, is true and the way to go.
2. To remember what Baba taught and How He lived so that we can live our life times too in that way.
3. To remember that yet another year is gone and that we are still not there, and so to pray to Him to lead us in the right path in the coming year, and to remember that we have to strive harder.

Jai Sai Master!!
